The second group reasons that it is better to just buy an inexpensive vacuum once a year or so as the standard models wear out. The regular home models might run anywhere from $75 to $250 but in many cases they simply do not hold up to the regular demands of daily use. Usually you will find they have fewer replaceable parts then commercial vacuums also. Another way of thinking about this is that these machines are disposable.

I've noticed that in most cases the more experienced carpet cleaners usually will pay the extra money to get the better commercial grade machines.
